The Principal’s Award is an award students may earn by accumulating 100 points from a list of select literature and scoring 80% or above on the AR quiz. All certifications and awards must be earned as an independent reader. Students may accrue points over a one or two-year period while at Hook for the Principal’s Award. However, an individual may receive the award only one time each year. Each student who receives the Principal’s Award will have his/her name and school year added to an Award plaque. If a student earns the award in third grade and again in fourth grade, the second school year will be added to his/her name. The books on the Principal’s Award list are chosen from award winning literature and approved by the AR committee.
